Runaway cow is truly special. the rotating flavors are always delicious, I think early grey has been my favorite so far. I ordered an ice-cream cake for my wife’s birthday and they did a perfect drawing of our dog on the cake, it was a big hit and very delicious. The staff are friendly and kind people and our community is lucky to have them, go try a Choco taco or snow storm before the season is over.

The worst thing about this place is that I didn’t know it existed sooner!!!!! My ask for my birthday was vegan icecream. I live in a really rural farming area and plant based food is nearly nonexistent. If im able to find plant based icecream it’s always just plain vanilla, I figured fun options were a thing of the past for me. BUT! We drove two hours into the city and WOWIE!!!! That was on August 13th and even today, September 7th im still talking about my snowstorm. I specifically said I wanted to OD on chocolate and the lady working (who from insta I now know is the owner) understood the assignment. Chocolate icecream, brownie pieces, chocolate sauce, and I think fudge?? It lives on in my memory 💜 I can’t wait to go back to Chicago to try more of their shakes/cones/novelties. Oh and my boyfriend got their weekly special, a Girl Scout Samoa Sunday. It was so so so good. 10/10 go get yourself some icecream.

My family absolutely loved the icecream. It was wonderful to be able to take my daughters somewhere for a treat that is fully vegan and had extensive gluten free options for my child with celiacs. The texture of the soft serve is excellent. So many options. The owner was extremely patient, friendly, and helpful. It is a small spot, so we naturally understood there not being a restroom and seating.

Amazing ice cream! So grateful to have been able to get a "snow storm" again since going vegan. Super generous with the toppings. They were so yummy and we also got 2 hot dogs which hit the spot! Best part is the prices are super reasonable and the owners were super friendly and seemed to care about all the right things. Will definitely stop anytime I'm back in Chicago

I think I just found my new favorite ice cream spot! I am so impressed with this place. Tried them for the first time today, I got a caramel apple, apple cider biscoff sundae and it was divine! The ice cream was so flavorful and creamy! So hard to believe it was vegan but that’s what made it even better! I got to also talk to the owner who was super cool. I learned she’s a CPS teacher and the shop is an ode to Dairy Queen - which holds a special place in my heart. There’s only two weeks left until they close for the summer and I’m making it a point to make another visit before then and after that, I’ll be counting down until they’re open again. Get there!
